The Little Things

Before telling you about my ride, I want to let you know that BioSkin is having an awesome sale from today (Wednesday 9/23) through Friday (9/25)! (Click on the link below to see the various products. This link is an affiliate link). If you need some convincing on why you NEED their compression sleeves, read my review on their compression sleeves here!

Last week I got out of work a bit early one day, and immediately decided to head off on a bit of a longer bike ride (nothing like my rides this summer that were in the 50-60 mile range though!). I took off on the same route that I took this summer on some of my longer rides (like Being Chased By DogsTake Me Home Country Roads, and Cornfields and a 50 mile PDR). Instead of listening to an audio book, I decided to catch up on my Jillian Michaels’ podcast which was fun. Sometimes she tells funny stories that make me laugh pretty hard, so I’m sure other bikers think I’m a little crazy biking and laughing down the trail. oops.

I tried a new to me flavor of gu, but one that I was pretty excited about:

Salted Carmel Gu

Verdict- I thought it was delicious! I think it’s a little thinner than some of the gels I’ve tried, and I liked that. I also LOVED the taste!

At one point I just stopped and tried to enjoy the various aspects of nature around me- the drying cornfields, the warm glow of the sunshine, fall flowers, and birds chirping. It was pretty fantastic, really.

Fall Bike Ride

I was sad to not be able to go longer, but with the hours of daylight shortening, shorter rides are going to have to be ok! It was pretty fantastic to end a day of work with a ride like this, although I did realize that I had less energy on this ride compared to when I go out first thing in the morning.

Hey- Thanks for commenting! Yes, I was anxious to try it because I had heard so much about it, and it did NOT disappoint. If you see some, pick it up and give it a try!
