Paper Towns- an interesting term, isn’t it? I actually hadn’t heard the term “paper town” before I read this book, so I won’t spoil it for those of you who don’t know! Paper Towns is a book by John Green, who wrote The Fault In Our Stars and Looking For Alaska, so I assumed that I would like it!
The story is about a group of high schoolers faced with a frightening situation (I don’t want to say what so I don’t ruin it!) that they must figure out. The story follows their progress as they attempt to figure out and cope with what has happened. In some ways, the main grouping of characters felt very similar to those in Looking For Alaska, which some people have found frustrating. I loved it though! Green’s writing is spectacular, and I love how he structures his stories. He weaves incredible thoughts and themes throughout his book, which I definitely appreciate. Here’s a quote that stood out to me:
I’m dying to read this AND see the movie!
I’m sure you’ll love the book!
I have not touched my books in forever. I have been so bad just reading blogs and magazines.
I try to at least end the day with 10-15 minutes so I get a bit of reading in. Last year I realized I was reading too many blogs and not enough books as well- so easy to do!
