3 years ago I sat down on the couch I’m sitting on right now, and I started this little blog. It was originally on a website called “Journey To Wellness”, and my first post was “Caroline Is On The Run!” Since that time, I’ve run 6 official half marathons (plus an unofficial one this summer), picked up biking again, done 2 triathlons, become a pilates barre instructor, passed my licensing test for mental health counseling, and SO so many more things. I’m so thankful for each and every one of you who take the time to read here, comment, ask good questions, and cheer me on during training/races. So, as a big THANK YOU, I have a giveaway for you.
I asked my friend Hannah if she would want to help me celebrate my “blogiversary”, and she very generously agreed! I’ve actually only met Hannah in person once, but I know her entire family, and Hannah and I have bonded quite a bit this summer over our mutual love for Big Brother Australia. 🙂 Here’s a bit of her story:
After searching for many years for a passion (I stopped college after 2 years to try and make some big decisions), my career was established as a restaurant manager, a job I was pretty great at and loved. After a few years, severe health issues caused me to resign my position and begin searching for answers, while being essentially bed-ridden. In the last 5 years of appointments, digging and struggles, God has kept His hand on me, blessing me with an absolutely amazing husband and family, but I have yearned for a passion, something to work for and goals to reach.
My husband and I moved to Maryland for 10 months for his job, and around Christmas time last year, I decided to start up my hobby of sewing. I grew up sewing, as my Grandma was a professional seamstress and my Mom sewed also. For my wedding (almost 2 years ago), I made chair ties and table covers for our ceremony & reception, and that triggered my love of the craft. I started TrendyStop on a whim, never thinking I could turn it into a profiting business, but 9 months later, it has become enough to keep my hands full, plus some. Customer service, creativity and quality work have always been 3 of my primary passions, and I am able to tap into all of these areas through my work. I take great pride in each item I make, and am thrilled when I am able to see pictures of my customers wearing their TrendyStop items.
A big thanks to Caroline for including me in her flourishing blog – I am very appreciative!
I myself have two of Hannah’s scarves, and my clients and friends can attest to the fact that I pretty much lived in them from Christmas until springtime. They are so comfortable and great quality! So now for the giveaway! Hannah has offered up one of her scarves- a beautiful red plaid scarf that has a wonderful silky texture! Plaid is SO popular right now, and I’m a little jealous I can’t enter the giveaway myself!
